There are many brands of moving blankets on the market. It can be hard to decide which brand to go with. While it is only a blanket, you still want to get the best quality for your money. A blanket that is made poorly can cause damage to your items that you bought the blanket to protect.

Two of the manufacturers of moving blankets are American Moving Supplies and RRT Moving Blankets. These companies were chosen for this comparison as they are just about the same price per blanket. While they are both priced the same in regards to a per blanket price, the RRT Moving Blankets is that they are only sold in lots of twelve.

In many cases this is not going to be a big issue. Typically, you need more than one or two blankets when you are moving anyway. The price is great for twelve blankets as you can get them for less than one hundred dollars in most cases. That is a great deal less than some of the other companies. American Moving Supplies blankets are right around ten dollars a piece so there is a great similarity in the price of these two types of blankets.

What is not similar is the material that these two different blankets are made of. The RRT Moving Blankets are made of a poly blend. While they are considered to be quilted moving blankets, they are made from man made materials. There is a distinct smell to them that many find foul.

This is not uncommon for blankets of this type. You will not be able to use these moving blankets for anything but moving. You would not want to have this smell around you for long. Keeping one of these blankets in the car for emergencies would not be a good idea either. Just because you are having a crisis does not mean you have to deal with a bad smell.

The American Moving Supplies moving blanket is made of cotton so it does not have that smell. If you want to use your blanket for other things after you have made your move you can do so. They sell a camouflage moving blanket that can also do double duty as padding when you are on hunting or fishing trips and need some padding under your tent.

If smell is not an issue, then the size will not matter either. Both of these comparably priced blankets are the same size. This is actually the standard size of moving blankets which is seventy two inches by eighty inches. This makes the price of both of these even more affordable because they are standard sized and cost less than other brands.

While there are some pros and cons to both brands of moving blankets, personal preference will ultimately be the final reason they are purchased. If you like poly blends or cotton, you can choose accordingly. If you plan on using your moving blanket for other purposes, you can make your choice that way. Both offer a quality product at a good price.
